All four members of Oakley Union Elementary School District Board in San Francisco Bay Area resigned after a video of them preparing for a meeting was, unknown to them, broadcast live. Unaware that the public was watching, they used profanity and made jokes about parents just wanting a babysitter while they smoke pot in their homes. One of the board members, Kim Beede, apparently was trying to defend herself from a parent who criticized her on social media for going to a party during the Covid-19 ‘pandemic’ after insisting it wasn’t safe to return kids to school. Board President Lisa Brizendine said that parents really want schools to reopen so they can get their babysitters back. [The newscasters felt that the significance of the story was, not that the attitude of the board was reprehensible, but that people need to make sure their microphones are turned off when they expect them to be.] -GEG
