Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla is an unlikely candidate for spreading vaccine hesitancy, but he recently came pretty close when he acknowledged to an interviewer that he was initially skeptical about plans to develop an mRNA vaccine to combat COVID-19. He was persuaded, he said, by company scientists, despite Pfizer’s lengthy track record with traditional vaccines, and only two years of research producing zero products with mRNA vaccines.
