The apology is from an unaccomplished radio host in Victoria, B.C., named Adam Stirling. Seven years ago, when Rebel News viewers were crowdfunding donations for the Red Cross campaign for the Fort McMurray wildfires, Stirling took to Twitter with a series of bizarre lies, claiming that we were actually stealing the money, and doing other fraudulent things.
It was completely untrue — the Red Cross immediately confirmed that we were, in fact, giving the money to them. But the lies spooked some people, and caused them to stop donating.
Who would do that? Who would attack me — but land his punches on a charity, causing people to stop giving to those in need?
Apology HERE…
The only reason Stirling finally apologized is because in a preliminary hearing, a judge shredded his arguments, saying he had no case and that I was almost certain to beat him in court. You can read that ruling for yourself, here.
Stirling smeared me and Rebel News. It was important for us to fight back. We’ll never be able to make up the lost donations to charity that this liar cost us. But at least the world now knows we conduct ourselves ethically, and that our bad-faith critics just lie and lie.
Never trust the mainstream media.
Yours truly,
Ezra Levant
P.S. The only reason that Rebel News has survived and grown is because people trust us, especially with how we crowdfund and respect our donors’ money. I think that was this liar’s goal — to hurt me and Rebel News by accusing us of fraud. He used the poor people of Fort McMurray as cannon fodder to attack me. What a disgrace.
P.P.S. I really can’t believe Stirling still has a job in the media — he works for a radio station in Victoria. But on second hand, I can totally believe it. I mean, the Media Party lies all the time. It’s just rare that a judge scares them enough that they apologize for it.
