Ivan Andaur, a 56-year old pilot, collapsed and died in the bathroom while flying a Boeing 787 jet with 267 people on board. A registered nurse, identified as Isadora, said she joined another nurse and two doctors in an attempt to revive the pilot after he suffered symptoms related to cardiac arrest. She claimed the improvised medical team did not have ‘necessary or sufficient supplies’ to resuscitate Andaur. The flight was diverted to Panama City. His COVID vaccine status is unknown, but many pilots were pressured and threatened to take the jab.
In a separate incident, a pilot who was scheduled to fly an IndiGo plane collapsed at a boarding gate in Nagpur airport and died while being taken to hospital. The hospital’s preliminary report indicated that he died from “sudden cardiac arrest”.
