Not beholden to party bullshit and corruption, what a great idea!
Unfortunately, the process is heavily rigged in favour of the big money uniparty, regardless of what colour or face of the poster child appears; they get the shiny TV ads, they get the news coverage, they get the most time at debates, etc., so I highly doubt you have a snowball’s chance in hell. To make matters worse, if they think you have even the slimmest chance of winning as much as a single seat, they will outright lie and deceive everyone, they will rig the vote, they will invent ‘anything’ to keep you from ever having a voice, including using the RCMP against you, hiring thugs to damage your campaign and credibility (Calgary can’t even have a recall campaign without having police thugs going around and directly sabotaging it). There is ‘no’ low that they won’t sink to to stop you. It is their game and money-making scam and they have every intention of keeping that going.
I am not trying to destroy idealism here, more as to help recognize that reality paints a different picture. The money uniparty is corrupt, criminal and will stop at nothing to stay at the trough. They kill their own citizens for kicks, while hiding behind agenda labels like vaccines and safe supply.
Still, despite these troubles, it is important to not give up and keep the fight going. The truth is on your side and even if no one agrees with you 100% on what you are doing, you have to tell them “That is fine. You do have to agree with us, entirely, but it is important to understand why your support for us is so important.”. If you understand what happened to New Blue in Ontario, then you MUST be prepared for the worst of the worst, persevere and don’t be afraid of any group trying to smear you; double-down and say this proves WHY your party is so important. You are the ones in the right and you must stand in the light.
