This American President like many others had some personal flaws, but unlike others also had a presence, a grace, gravitas. He managed to captivate his audience and almost managed to speak on a level we dont EVER see or hear anymore.
To think of the group that followed him Reagan was a distant second
Its difficult to conceive that his stature as a world leader might be on a list that contains the name Justin Trudeau
Trudeau and Freeland have amazed me and I am proud of how they present themselves and represent Canada. My fear was that Canadians would bow to our southern neighbours. That would be a debasement not only of Canadian ideals but also of hope and belief that there are guts in our government. Time to collaborate to create made in Canada solutions. Ford has also surprised me. He may have become a gutsy leader realizing social supports are not only a frill but a requirement. Yet to be determined.
Appalls me that support for remote communities has been delayed for years. Why is the water not potable? Showing my privilege? I have never understood why? Mining has corrupted the water table.
My grand babies won’t know the joy of bending over a fast moving stream and slurping good, cold water.
Get on with healing the earth. What are people waiting for?
Mother Earth is annoyed. She is pissed. She has given mankind multiple opportunities. What is the human response? Spits in her face. My grand babies won’t drink from springs, swim in the swamp, make forts in the grape vines. So sad. Most have not had those adventures. Growing up ….stuck in the swamp. Little brother floating on raft. yep, someone must get him because he won’t stay in middle.
