The Maverick Party says they will have candidates in 27 ridings in the West as they compete in their first election.

The party called Sunday’s election call by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “unnecessary, unwanted, and irresponsible election two years before Canada’s fixed election date.”

“Maverick Party launched less than a year ago and we’ve already held a founding convention and passed our constitution and policy platform with overwhelming support from delegate members”, said Jay Hill, Maverick Party Interim Leader and former Conservative Cabinet Minister.
