Canadian flags will be raised at federal buildings and at the Peace Tower in Ottawa on Nov. 7, so they can be lowered in honour of veterans on Remembrance Day, the government says.
“Raising the flag at this time will allow us to honour and remember important moments in Canada’s history,” said a joint statement from Canadian Heritage and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada on Nov. 5.
The flags had been lowered in May in recognition of the discovery of unmarked graves at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C.

The flags have been lowered for far too long. Far too much emphasis has been made on a group of people that should be acknowledged as Canadians if they want to be treated as Canadians.
The Indigenous, who DO NOT recognize themselves as Canadians, have been given more per capita over the years than any other Canadian in history. In turn all they have done is complain. They are given rights that no one else can benefit from, including fishing out of season, and turning around and selling those fish to you guessed, it non-indigenous Canadians.
They should be made to become true Canadian citizens with all the benefits and responsiblities of Canadians, Jobs, Taxes, etc, nothing more, nothing less. If they do not want to work, then they should not eat. No handouts. Enough, is enough. An audit needs to be done on every single tribe in Canada to discover where all the money has gone.
The Canadian cash cow needs to be shut down.
