Despite Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) leadership candidate Jean Charest’s allegation that his opponent and perceived frontrunner Pierre Poilievre supported border blockades during the Freedom Convoy, a review of Poilievre’s statements shows no such position.

“I have a competitor by the name of Mr. Poilievre who supported, as you know, the blockade,” Charest told CTV News on Friday. “And if you want to be a leader in this country and a legislator, you can’t make laws and break laws.”

Charest also continued his attack in a recent Global News interview where he stated “everyone knows that Pierre Poilievre supported the blockades.”

  1. Pfft.

“I’m proud of the truckers and I stand with them,” Poilievre said in an interview recorded on Thursday for next week’s episode of the Postmedia podcast Full Comment with Anthony Furey. (Note: this is from a story published in the National Post on February 11).

  2. Really, now? And what exactly did you do, Mr. Poiliviere, to stand with them? Were you helping them with legal defense while they rotted inside jail cells? Were you dodging cops to deliver meals and supplies to ensure they stay healthy. Were you interviewing protestors outside, taking notes and delivering what people were telling you to the house, itself? Were you risking being thrown in jail by being in their immediate presence? Nope. None of that. You took selfies. Selfies might go a way for your political career, but they won’t do anything to the countless bank accounts that have been (illegally) frozen as a form of collective punishment against those with a difference of political opinion (war crime). They won’t do anything for political prisoners sitting in jail cells who’s only crime is a difference of opinion. They won’t do anything for the people that have been fined ridiculous amounts of money for having a difference of political opinion (Are we seeing a pattern, yet?).

Friendly reminder: This is the same Poiliviere than in 2020 spoke about these sort of demonstrations being wrong and how they should be crushed. He’s part of the same cloth Trudeau is cut from. Many of the backbenchers in the Conservative party would make far better leaders than this embarassment would.

Speaking of health, don’t forget that despite several weeks of people in close groups, there wasn’t any evidence of anything resembling a outbreak of any sort of virus. That’s one of the big reasons why this had to be discouraged from the start. It was all the proof you need there was never EVER a scamdemic and the media was lying to you, me and our pet dogs the WHOLE DAMN TIME! Oh, and uh, don’t forget to get your 20th poison jab, since they first 19 did nothing except make you more sick.

  3. Poilievre is a politician. It’s a dirty job. I’m already sick of reading comments about how he’s an opportunist, not pure, not charging up the hill bayonet in hand. Hold him to account – yes! Be politically active. But don’t think you will ever get everything you want from any politician. But if you try…you just might get what you need…to quote one of the greatest lyrics of all time…& the campaign song of another great politician who was far from perfect.

  4. In internet archives look for PP being a member of the WEF.
The page was taken down in 2021.
Just in time for his leadership run.

Was he standing up for the rights of Canadians in the past 2 years. No.

    Wolf in sheep’s clothing!
