In June, allegations surfaced suggesting that RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki had promised the offices of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and then-Public Safety Minister Bill Blair that she would release the details of the gun used in the Nova Scotia mass shooting to sway the public into supporting gun control legislation.

Trudeau: “We did not put any undue influence or pressure. It is extremely important to highlight that it is only the RCMP, it is only police, that determine what & when to release information”
