Black Press Media can confirm that B.C. United has suspended its provincial election campaign.

The suspension first reported by Global News comes as the Conservative Party of B.C. is preparing for what it is billing as an “historic announcement” at 2:40 pm in Vancouver with Leader John Rustad set to speak.

It is expected that B.C. United Leader Kevin Falcon will not run again, but a handful of current B.C. United MLAs are said to run as Conservatives. Black Press Media is currently reaching out to them for confirmation.

The move comes with B.C. United in third or fourth place in many polls and the Conservatives within single-digits of the B.C. NDP under Premier David Eby.
