September 18th, 2024: “Canada’s ambassador to China says Ottawa’s complex relationship with Beijing means some facets of the relationship are speeding along while others are in reverse — but notes China is not viewed as an adversary.”

What conclusion should common sense Canadians draw regarding the paradoxical reality of Canada-China relations? To which we add a corollary:

Four years ago, Opposition MPs called for an immediate end to all foreign aid to Chinadescribing their politburo as a “communist dictatorial government.”

“Statistical Reports On International Assistance says Canadian foreign aid to China overall has decreased from $41 million in 2020 to $7.8 million in 2023.”
